Court frees 7 Aluu Killers

I pray that our judicial system gets better each passing day, but not today as Seven out of the eighteen suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of four UNIPORT students , at Umuokiri village in Aluu community in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State has been freed by a Port Harcourt Magistrate presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Woke. The suspects were remanded in prison custody on October 18, 2012 when they appeared before the court. The seven suspects were freed by the Court for lack of evidence and that the evidence against the suspects were not strong enough to prosecute them.
The remaining 11 suspects including the traditional ruler of Umuokiri Aluu community,  Alhaji Hassan Welewa are  still facing murder charges for their involvement in the killing of the students.
